The overall goal for the Barrow County School System was to develop a college campus atmosphere combining the existing facilities on the property with the new facilities to create a S.T.E.A.M. campus. The design resulted in two buildings that include core facilities size to accommodate 1,800 students which allows future growth. The two buildings incorporated in Phase 1 of the project are an academic building and student center building. The design of the site included master planning of future phases of the high school (currently under construction), a performing arts center (currently in the design phase), a new elementary school (currently under construction), and future athletic facilities to allow for a S.T.E.A.M. campus that would accommodate K-12 students and even college students attending the technical college building on campus.
